Kelly Clarkson on 'Piece By Piece' album: 'It's intense with passionate vocals because I was pregnant'

Singer Kelly Clarkson has revealed that her new album, 'Piece By Piece', sounds especially passionate as she was pregnant while laying down vocals.

During a recent interview with Billboard magazine, the songstress was asked to describe the creative mindset that fuelled the record and she confessed that she began working on the album when she was pregnant so her hormones pushed her along:

"I was super hormonal and pregnant while making it, so it's very intense and with passionate vocals."

She went onto add that it was difficult to keep her pregnancy a secret in the early months because her schedule was manic and she didn't want people to assume she was 'lazy' if she seemed lacking in energy:

"We weren't telling anyone while I was still in my first trimester. I would be up at 4:00 AM for a morning show in New York, and then I did press all day, then Fallon, then I went to Rockefeller Center. It was a really hard schedule, and I had to keep this secret to make sure I was past my first trimester, and I didn't want anyone to think I was lazy!"
