Lady Gaga on fashion: 'I look for clothes with a soul'

Pop icon Lady Gaga has revealed that when shopping for new outfits, she tends to gravitate towards pieces that have strong connections to women and embody the souls of other 'fashionistas'.

Speaking to the September issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine, on which she graces the cover along with her adorable dog Asia, the superstar told Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld that she feels as though clothing carries the souls of the people who have worn the items before her, which is something she loves the thought of:

"My latest trip is feeling a connection to all women throughout history through fashion. I love wearing clothes knowing that I'm carrying the spirit of previous fashionistas, and living out more of their fantasies, and my own."

''I believe clothes carry the soul of the designer and the person wearing them forever, so I look for clothes with a soul. Perhaps it's something only I can see."
