Lady Gaga's Dubai concert to be 'edited for cultural reasons'

It has been revealed that Lady Gaga's scheduled concert at the Meydan Racecourse in Dubai on September 10 as part of her ArtRave: The ARTPOP Ball tour, will be amended because sections of the show may cause offence.

Marco Rios, the chairman and CEO of AMI Live, which is one of the companies responsible for bringing her to the United Arab Emirates, has confirmed that her new stage show will be edited because parts of it aren't appropriate for the country's culture:

"There will be some edits for Dubai. It cannot be the full show, because it wouldn’t be allowed. So it’s a special show for Dubai and for the culture.”

The CEO of ATW Live, Becky Artmonsky, went on to add that the 'Applause' superstar is willing to make necessary changes in order to avoid dates of her tour being cancelled: “She’s a wonderful, ground-breaking artist and that’s why we all love her. She’s very, very excited to be playing for her fans for the first time in the Middle East, and that’s really, always for her, the absolute most important thing."

“We’re working very closely with her and her team to ensure all cultural sensitivities are managed very well. It’s her first time here, and she knows she has a lot of Little Monsters here — and some Big Monsters, as well, actually — so that’s the focus for her.”
