Tyler, The Creator admits he is bored with rapping

Tyler, The Creator has revealed his growing distaste of rap.

The US star is a member of rap collective Odd Future, but it seems his future lies away from the genre.

He told Larry King that he is looking to the likes of Barry White as he considers how to adapt to different strands of music, such as composition.

Tyler said: "'I really wanna sing but my tone of voice is too deep to do what I want.

"I hate rapping, only because it puts you in this box. I just wanna compose music...I'm talented enough to do other things. I'm pretty bored with [rapping], it's not interesting."

The Odd Future man also suggested that he wants to extend his experience in film from directing music videos to movies.

He said: "I want people to mention my name next to Wes Anderson or Quentin Tarantino. I don't want my name to be mentioned next to other rappers at all."
