Only The Young picked to perform in front of 80,000 people at the Summertime Ball

Rising stars Only The Young were recently picked to perform on stage in front of 80,000 people at Capital FM's Summertime Ball tomorrow (June 21) thanks to the Vodafone Firsts programme.

The pop band, which is comprised of Parisa Tarjomani (20), Mikey Bromley (19), Betsy-Blue English (18), and Charlie George (17), won the chance to sing live at Wembley Stadium after going head to head with three other emerging acts.

Over 7,000 people voted for Only The Young online and secured them the coveted slot, which will see them play the same event as Miley Cyrus, 5 Seconds Of Summer, and The Vamps.

In addition to performing at the Capital FM Summertime Ball, the group will also shoot a crowd-sourced music video, which will be made up of footage captured using smartphone and tablets, and clips recorded by the band on Vodafone devices as well as by their social media fans, and their live Wembley audience.

Earlier today (June 20), the pop newcomers, who are from Margate in Kent, posted a message to their fans via their official Twitter page to reveal what a huge opportunity this is and they confessed that it's incredibly exciting: "Sound-checking before our #First stadium show is nerve-wracking but totally exciting! Only one more day! #spon."
