Brian Friedman: 'I know first hand that Cheryl sang live on 'The X Factor''

Songstress Cheryl Fernandez-Versini recently debuted her new single 'I Don't Care' on 'The X Factor', but her performance of the track was widely slammed by social media users who accused her of lip-syncing.

Now, the show's choreographer Brian Friedman has hit out at people who said she was miming and confessed that her rendition of the song was very much live.

In his column for Britain's newspaper The Mirror, Friedman explained that he was disappointed to see so much criticism surrounding Cheryl's performance because she cut out some choreography in order to prioritise her vocals: "I'm pissed that people are claiming Cheryl mimed on Sunday night because I know first hand that she sang live. She was doing different ad-libs in her vocals than she planned, and she stepped out of some of the choreography so she could focus on singing. It's about how you feel when you leave the stage that matters – nothing else matters."
