Culture Club have cancelled their forthcoming reunion tour.

The group were due to embark on their first UK jaunt in 15 years in December, with dates in venues such as London's O2 Arena and Glasgow's Hydro arena.

However, it was confirmed today (November 13) that the shows will not be going ahead due to singer Boy George becoming ill with a 'serious throat condition'.

He said in a statement: "I'm devastated but I want to be able to perform to the best of my ability and the specialist has told me that right now that will be impossible. I will focus on getting better and see all my fans soon."

Fans have been told to get refunds from their point of purchase.

The band meanwhile recently confirmed plans to release new album 'Tribes' in 2015.
