Charli XCX: 'I gave 'Boom Clap' to Hilary Duff but her team said it wasn't cool enough'

Hitmaker and songwriter Charli XCX has revealed that she tried to give her song 'Boom Clap' to Hilary Duff, but her team turned it down so she decided to release it herself.

During a new interview with the Kyle and Jackie O Show, the songstress explained that she was always a fan of Duff so thought she would offer the track to her for the new record she heard she was working on:

"I was drunk one day and I thought 'Let's give it to Hilary Duff, I'm a fan'. I heard she was recording a new album and thought she probably might like it."

She went onto admit that Duff's management rejected the song because it 'wasn't cool enough', adding: "Actually, when Hilary heard about it, she tweeted and said: 'Oh my God, if I had known I would have taken it'. She seems really nice."

Charli XCX, meanwhile, recently recalled an incident at Katy Perry's house and told ShortList magazine that she passed out in the 'Teenage Dream' beauty's bathroom: "I went to her house, but was so hungover, I had one drink and passed out in her bathroom."
