Bobbi Kristina Brown is "fighting for her life", according to her family.

The 21-year-old daughter of the late Whitney Houston was found unconscious in the bath at her home in Atlanta on Saturday (January 31).

Her family have now issued a statement to clarify Brown's condition, saying:

"Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family.

"As her father already stated, we are asking you to honour our request for privacy during this difficult time.

"Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support."

Police previously said that they went to the home to attend to a drowning.

An officer later stated that there were no drugs or prescription medication at the scene.

Brown's mother Houston died in 2012, with her death ruled as an accidental drowning in a bathtub. Heart disease and cocaine were listed as contributing factors.
