Adam Lambert reflects on his life without 'American Idol' exposure

Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert has been promoting his new album 'The Original High' and during a recent promotional trip to New Zealand, the star stopped for a chat with New Zealand TV Show Jono and Ben.

The heartthrob confessed that he sometimes thinks about what his life might have been like if he hadn't auditioned for 'American Idol', telling the hosts: "I sometimes think, though, what life would have been like if I didn't go on the show? I don't know. Would I be in debt? Probably! Would I be flipping burgers? I don't know."

He went onto speak about fashion malfunctions and joked that he once suffered a similar mishap to Lenny Kravitz, whose leather trousers split on stage this week exposing his genitals:

"I just saw the thing that happened to Lenny Kravitz... I don't know if it was so little! I had a pair of leather trousers rip on stage before, I don't free-ball so it's all good. It was the backside! I've given up the spikes... I wore some spikes the first time I went out with Queen a few years ago and one night after the show, Brian May gave me a hug and he was like 'oh, oh...'."
