Sam Smith to perform at the LACMA Art and Film Gala this fallBritish singer-songwriter Sam Smith has been announced as the performer for LACMA’s fifth annual Art + Film Gala, which is set to be held on November 7. LACMA's CEO and director Michael Govan told The Hollywood Reporter that having Smith join the event is an honour: “It’s a nice cross-over to the film world that Sam Smith is doing the new Bond song. It’s nice timing." "Each gala has had its own special character. Florence (Welch, of Florence + the Machine) was really good and then I took her on a tour of the museum after the gala. She had her shoes off and we did a barefoot tour.... I wasn’t barefoot.” LACMA is what the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is known as and fashion house Gucci will be this year's gala sponsor. The gala will benefit the museum’s film-related programming and exhibitions. Govan added: “There are so many L.A. events but this one is so unique in bringing all of these different worlds together."
