Actress Jennette McCurdy, who starred in Nickelodeon’s Sam & Cat alongside Ariana Grande, has revealed that she and the songstress had a good relationship but both had such different career aspirations. 

During an interview with Vulture magazine, McCurdy explained that the popular show coming to an end caused a little tension between cast members: "It was somewhat dramatic. Emotions were running high, and a lot of that was just blown up because so many people found out about the show ending.”

Referring to Ariana Grande specifically, she added that they are just on different paths: "[We] both had very different ideas of where [we] wanted [our] careers to go.”

Back in May, McCurdy told The Insider that she and Grande still keep in touch: "She just gave me a book recommendation that I'm almost done with. And then we text probably like once a week to kind of catch up and see what's going on."
