Johnny Cash to be inducted into Gospel Music Hall of Fame

Close on the heels of legends such as Elvis Presley and Pat Boone, late country icon Johnny Cash is to be inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

The ‘Ring of Fire’ singer, who died at age 71 back in 2003, was brought up with gospel music and incorporated many aspects of the genre into his music. Cash also turned to religion to conquer his drug addictions.

Along with Cash, the other stars being inducted into the hall of fame this round include DeGarmo and Key, the Golden Gate Quartet and Bill ‘Hoss’ Allen. All these artists will be committed to the hall in Hendersonville, Tennessee on January 24, 2011.
