Label chief declares N-Dubz ‘new Black Eyed Peas’

L.A. Reid – co-founder of LaFace Records who is responsible for signing Pink, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Kanye West, TLC, OutKast and Usher – has given his well-informed judgement on N-Dubz and concluded that the UK trio have the appeal to break America.

Rapper Dappy said of the endorsement to The Sun: “L.A. Reid sat me and Tulisa down. We sold him what we do by performing for him and he said it was like watching a ping-pong game.

"He was like, 'I get it, I get it. You guys don't need to change s*** - you've got it.'

"He said we are the new era of the Black Eyed Peas. In two years he said we're going to be bigger than them.”

In order to achieve their stateside success, the group has been cutting back on their trademark controversial behaviour to focus on their work.

No more clubbing or fooling around, says Dappy: "This is business - I've got Will.i.am's crown to steal."
