Grimes, Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen all in Canada's Polaris Prize longlist

The longlist for the 2016 Polaris Music Prize, which recognises Canada's album of the year, has finally been announced and it includes some huge names.

Justin Bieber's latest album 'Purpose', Grimes' 'Art Angels' and Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Emotion' have all made the cut, and the shortlist is set to be officially confirmed at Toronto’s Carlu on July 14.

The winner of the prize will be announced at the Polaris Gala on September 19 and the decision will be made by 11 individuals. The winner will receive $50,000 (Canadian dollars) and the nine short-listed artists will each get $3,000.
