New pop sensation Willow Smith may become the youngest ever artist to score a number 1 single in the UK.

The ten-year-old singer – who is following in the footsteps of her famous parents Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith – recently signed to Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation and has revealed her first single ‘Whip My Hair’.

Someone so young hasn’t grabbed the top spot since 1972 when 9-year-old Jimmy Osmond had a Christmas smash with ‘Long Haired Lover’.

However, there is competition for Willow’s success with the Black Eyed Peas boosting support for their single ‘The Time (Dirty Bit)’  after performing on the semi-final episode of the ‘X Factor’.
