The Libertines have revealed that they're working on brand new material. 

The band's Carl Barât spoke to BANG Showbiz this week about their goals for their new album and explained that they have a "special" plan for it:

"We are working on the new record. We have a special plan for that actually. I can't really say anything about it, but it is really exciting and we are all in a really good place for that. The project we are looking at is pretty immersive and I think it will be more like how we were for our first record."

When asked about the timeframe for the record, Barât admitted he's uncertain although the first part of next year seems like a decent guess: "You never bother expecting anything with The Libertines. We are stepping closer towards it. I guess at the start of next year. It depends on this new project we've got, which I can't say anything about."
