Train’s Grammy snub “felt like a practical joke”

Despite having the biggest and best-selling song of 2010 with ‘Hey, Soul Sister’, rock band Train failed to garner Grammy nods, to even the bands’ surprise.

The song was absent from the expected categories of Record or Song of the Year with only one nomination for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals for a live version of the song.

The snub was even more of a surprise after the band were invited to perform at the Grammy Nominations Concert – a fact usually indicating a shot at several awards.

"You know, it was a strange night for us, to be real honest with you," Train frontman Pat Monahan told MTV News. "Playing the nominations show, being seated in the front to watch all the performances, and then to not be nominated for any of them during that show. I don't really know what the take is, to be real honest. It kind of felt like a practical joke at the time.
