The late BBC DJ John Peel will return to the airwaves next week as UK station 6 Music plans to air a selection of his finest moments. 

Each segment to be played will be 15 minutes long and they will also be available, for the first time ever, as podcasts. The clips will be taken from Peel's eclectic shows on Radio 1 and will be running throughout Mark Riley's mid-morning programme, which starts tomorrow (December 27) at 10am GMT. 

DJ Mark Riley said of the exciting plans:

"I doubt any music broadcaster will ever get close to the love and respect shown to John by listeners and indebted bands alike. Having been a member of both those groups I know this to be true. In short - the 6 Music listeners are in for a treat."
