Weezer have been confirmed to perform at the UK rock festival Sonisphere.

The three day bill is packed with the biggest names in rock and metal including Slipknot and Biffy Clyro and now the 'Beverly Hills' stars will join them. The event will take place from July 8-10 at Knebworth Park. 

This announcement comes at the same time that Weezer's front man, Rivers Cuomo, has revealed that he plans to publish his book this year. Cuomo has been collecting journal entries, letters and notes that he will compile and release under the name 'The Pinkerton Diaries/Alone III'. 

Cuomo has raised the profile of his rock band Weezer after collaborating with B.o.B on his track 'Magic' and performing at 2010's Reading and Leeds festivals after being out of the spotlight for a while. Watch Cuomo talk about his book's release in his online video here:
