The Darkness confirm UK headlining tour

The Darkness have confirmed details of a full UK tour for later this year. 

The operatic rockers are set to perform at 2011's Download Festival tonight at 7.20pm on the mainstage, and following this huge comeback show they will tour the country extensively in November.

  • November 12 - Newcastle, O2 Academy

  • November 16 - Brighton Dome
  • November 17 - Southampton Guildhall
  • November 18 - Birmingham, O2 Academy
  • November 20 - Cambridge, Corn Exchange
  • November 21 - Sheffield, O2 Academy
  • November 22 - Nottingham, Rock City
  • November 24 - Norwich, UEA
  • November 25 - London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo

Speaking to Kerrang! magazine about their set tonight, frontman Justin Hawkins said the band are really nervous but so excited:

"We're terrified, but in a good way. We've missed the daunting-ness. It's one thing to play to your fans – that's an awesome experience – but we haven't done anything for a while that involves hostility."
