Jennifer Lopez is unsure whether she is likely to return to American Idol as a judge on the next season. 

The 'On The Floor' hitmaker has excelled on the panel this year, but explained her shadowing uncertainty to BBC's Radio 1:

"I don't know. I haven't been forced to make a decision and I'm glad about that because honestly I'm very on the fence about it."

Despite being "on the fence" about the position, Lopez added to Kiss FM that she loves it because she can empathize with people auditioning in front of a judging panel:

"I've been in that position, many times where I had to put myself out there and audition for somebody and I just thought to myself how would I want somebody to tell me it's not going to work out this time or whatever constructive criticism I can give them in a way that they don't walk away with a crushed spirit."
