George Harrison documentary to debut in his native Liverpool

A documentary detailing the life and success of musician George Harrison is set to premiere in the Beatle's hometown of Liverpool.

The project was created by legendary director Martin Scorsese and opened at Spain's 59th San Sebastian Film Festival yesterday, September 16, but will debut in the UK city on October 2 at the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology (FACT).

The general manager of FACT, Chris Peters, told WENN:

"FACT is over the moon to be bringing Liverpool audiences the premiere of George Harrison: Living in the Material World in the city where George's story began.

"A spiritual and musical journey, the documentary places the imaginative and inspired eye of one of cinema's greatest filmmakers on one of the world's most influential men, and Liverpool audiences should expect a deeply moving and touching experience."

'George Harrison: Living in the Material World' features exclusive footage of the late star during his time with the Fab Four and it also includes interviews with his widow, Olivia, Sir Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono and Ringo Starr.
