With the London 2012 Olympic Games on the horizon it's no surprise that a lot of bands are vying for a coveted performance at the opening ceremony, and now one of the most well-loved acts have revealed that they are keen to reunite for the occasion. 

Roger Taylor, drummer for the iconic stadium rock band Queen, has admitted to the Rolling Stone that if an opportunity arose for the group to get back together on stage at the sporting event he would grab it with both hands:

"I wouldn't rule it out. In fact I read the other day Paul (Freddie Mercury's replacement) said he wouldn't mind doing something. If something came up as special, we could maybe do that, maybe the Olympics or something."

"I certainly wouldn't rule it out and he is a wonderful singer, there's no doubt about that."

Queen, who were performing together under the name Queen + Paul Rodgers, haven't played together since May 2009 so the upcoming Olympics would be a great excuse to reteam and wow fans all over the world.
