Katherine Jenkins fights war memorial vandals

Opera beauty Katherine Jenkins has joined a campaign to fight against vandals who ruin war memorials ahead of this year's Remembrance Day, which falls on Sunday, November 13.

The superstar has signed up to be the face of Shop The Vile Vandals, which is an organisation that aims to hand out tougher penalties to those who deface or defile the memorials.

Jenkins has flown out to war zones several times to entertain the troops and is a big supporter of the British Army so this cause is very close to her heart, and she explained to the Daily Express newspaper:

"Britain’s war memorials are a vital reminder of the courageous men and women who lost their lives for our country. To think that any individual would deface or damage these precious places is heartbreaking."
