Davy Jones of The Monkees dies aged 66The Monkees' frontman Davy Jones has died aged 66, his publicist Deborah Robicheau confirmed this evening (February 29). The well-loved lead singer of the iconic group passed away at his Florida home after suffering a "massive heart-attack" during his sleep. Jones, who was married 3 times, leaves behind 4 daughters and a phenomenal musical legacy. The Monkees formed in 1966 and enjoyed international success with their popular television show, numerous chart-topping albums and countless live tours. 3 of the band's original members - Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones and Peter Tork - also reunited in 2011 to play a series of gigs around the UK.
