Cheryl Cole, Adele show support for World Water Day

A host of music stars have showed their support for World Water Day.

The day is created to raise awareness for the vital role water plays in the world and highlights the fact that too many people don't have access to clean water.

Cheryl Cole tweeted a message of support earlier today: "Its World Water Day.. follow @drop4drop on their mission #cleanwaterforall."

Adele meanwhile tweeted: "TODAY IS WORLD WATER DAY. A DAY DEDICATED TO THE BILLION PEOPLE WITHOUT CLEAN WATER! FOLLOW @drop4drop AND THEIR MISSION #cleanwaterforall x"

Pop star Mika added: "I've been made aware this am (morning) by Adele that it is indeed world water day today. It's worth spreading the word when you see these stats; 884 million people do not have access to clean drinking water and 1 child dies every 5 seconds from not having clean drinking water."
