Adele and LMFAO lead Billboard Music Award nominees

Adele and LMFAO have today been announced as the lead nominees for this year’s Billboard Music Awards.

The record-breaking British singer has received nods in 18 categories, one more than the US electro duo, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist, and Top Billboard 200 Artist, and will go head to head with the ‘Party Rock Anthem’ stars for the Top Hot 100 Artist Award alongside Rihanna, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars.

Other major multiple nominees include Rihanna (13), Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne (10), while Big Sean, Foster The People and Wiz Khalifa have been recognised in the Best New Artist category.

Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood and The Wanted are amongst some of the first acts to be confirmed to perform at the ceremony which will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 20.
