Simon Cowell plays down chances of having a wife and kids

Simon Cowell has played down the idea that one day he might find a wife and start a family.

The X Factor supremo has often opined in the past that he is unlucky in love, despite his seeming status as something of a guilty pleasure sex god.

The Sun quotes Cowell as saying that he believes women would find it hard to live with him due to his "selfish" ways. He said:

"I'm difficult to live with. I'm selfish, quite weird - and I need time on my own."

Cowell also believes that he is unlikely to add any new faces to the Cowell clan - because he can't stand the "ga ga goo" phase babies go through. When asked whether or not he is too old to have children, he said:

"I worry about that. If they could be born at the age of five, I'd quite like that. I'm not sure if I could deal with the 'ga ga goo' thing."
