Sir Elton John tops UK album chart for first time since 1990

Sir Elton John has topped the UK album the chart for the first time since his ‘The Very Best Of’ collection in 1990.

‘Good Morning To The Night,’ which features re-workings of his lesser-known 70s back catalogue by Australian electro duo Pnau, retained its midweek lead to keep Maroon 5’s 'Overexposed' from nabbing a first week at the top spot.

Frank Ocean’s ‘Channel Orange’ slipped to No.3, Paul Simon’s ‘Graceland’ climbed to No.4, whilst Ed Sheeran’s ‘+’ rose to No.5.

Elsewhere, there were new entries for Nas’ ‘Life Is Good,’ the original Jesus Christ Superstar soundtrack and Hans Zimmer’s score for ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’
