Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash has announced a UK tour.

The rock icon revealed the news today (July 30) as he looks to promote his latest album 'Apocalyptic Love'.

The tour is set to take place in October this year and the jaunt will see the guitarist perform five dates.

The run will open at Edinburgh's Corn Exchange on October 7 before concluding at Newcastle's O2 Academy on October 15.

Slash will also play Brixton's O2 Academy as part of the tour. The full schedule is as follows:

Sunday October 7 2012 - Edinburgh, Corn Exchange
Monday October 8 - Manchester, O2 Apollo
Tuesday October 9 - Birmingham, NIA
Thursday October 11 - Brixton, O2 Academy
Monday October 15 - Newcastle, O2 Academy

Tickets go on sale on Friday (August 3) at 9am UK time.
