Heartthrobs The Wanted arrived in Canada earlier today (August 16) and were mobbed by a swarm of fans as they walked through the airport.

The group sent out a message from their official Twitter page to thank their followers for such a fantastic welcome and wrote:

"Thank u to all who came to see us at the airport ... security was very strict but we loved seeing u all there. Excited to be back in Canada!"

Individual members of the band then sent out tweets about their arrival and Max George revealed that he filmed the madness on his camera phone: "Thanks for the madness at the airport!!....got the best vid on my phone!! gotta love canadians! x"

"That was maddddd at the airport," added Nathan Sykes.

Later this afternoon, The Wanted returned to the social networking site to express their excitement at performing a concert in Toronto: "Beautiful morning in Toronto. Excited for the gig tonight! What's going on today?"
