Emeli Sande returns to top of UK album chart

Emeli Sande has returned to the top of the UK album charts with ‘Our Version Of Events.’

The 25-year-old, who first reached number one with her debut back in February, climbed from last week’s number two thanks to her several performances at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.

Paloma Faith’s ‘Fall To Grace’ rose to No.2, Ed Sheeran’s ‘+’ (No.3) and Elbow’s ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ (No.6) also leaped up the chart following their performances at the Olympic Stadium, whilst Ryan O'Shaughnessy scored the highest new entry at No.9 with his self-titled E.P.

Elsewhere, there were debuts for Spector's 'Enjoy It While It Lasts' (No.12), The Kinks' 'Waterloo Sunset: The Very Best Of' (No.14), The Midnight Beast's eponymous debut (No.24), Don Broco’s ‘Priorities’ (No.25) and While She Sleeps' 'This Is The Six' (No.27) and re-entries for Spice Girls’ ‘Greatest Hits’ (No.18) and Kate Bush’s ‘The Whole Story’ (No.21).
