Olly Murs hints at X Factor judging role

Olly Murs has joked that he would be interested in replacing Louis Walsh as a judge on the X Factor.

Murs, who made his name on the series before becoming host of spin-off show Xtra Factor, praised Walsh in an interview with Heart West Midlands.

The 60-year-old Irish judge recently said that he is thinking of hanging up his judging boots soon after enjoying a number of years on the show.

Murs joked that an X Factor graduate like him should be lined up to replace Walsh when he eventually does retire. He said:

"Who's going to replace Louis? That's a big question! After he has been there for such a long time and done such amazing work. I mean, it's a job a lot of people will want to take. Maybe they will take someone who's been on The X Factor, done really well in their career successfully, and take someone like that to do it."

He added: "I don't know who that could be, it could be anyone."
