Olly Murs claims fans will be surprised by new album

Olly Murs has claimed that fans will be surprised by his new album.

The 28-year-old, who recently admitted that he doesn’t consider himself a pop star, told the Daily Star that he’s opted for a different sound for the follow-up to ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’:

“I’ve got the first three singles in the bag and about eight songs that I’m so, so, happy with for the new album. I just need to get three or four more I’m equally in love with.

“People will be surprised by the first single. I didn’t want to do Motown or reggae again so it’s something completely different. It still has my signature pop sound though.”

The ‘Heart Skips A Beat’ singer also revealed how delighted he is to be performing at this weekend’s V Festival:

“They told me last year they wanted me to be on the main stage next time and I thought they were just talking rubbish but I’m thrilled they meant it.

“It means even more because I’m an Essex boy.”
