Simon Cowell confirms Olympic themed X Factor plans

Simon Cowell has revealed that the UK X Factor is hoping to have an Olympic themed week.

Great Britain's London 2012 Olympic team proved to be a massive hit this summer with an impressive medal haul, whilst athletes such as Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah captured the hearts and minds of the public.

It had been rumoured recently that X Factor might run with an Olympic theme in the coming weeks during its live shows.

Speaking to Channel 5 News, X Factor supremo Simon Cowell confirmed that he is wanting a themed night this series to give dedication to Britain's Olympic "heroes". He said:

"I think we're going to do something around the Olympics on one of the live shows so they're all welcome. We like having heroes on our shows."
