Boyband The Wanted recently decided to surprise member Max George on his birthday by pushing a cake into his face on stage.

The heartthrob turned 24 this week and the 'Chasing The Sun' hitmakers performed at the MTV pre-VMAs concert in Los Angeles last night (September 5) when his bandmates welcomed in his birthday with a splat.

Writing on Twitter yesterday, George thanked his followers for the birthday wishes: "Awwww thanks everyone for the bday wishes!! I forgot I'm 8hours behind!!!:) love you all!!! X"

Earlier today, the lads confirmed details on their brand new forthcoming single, which will be called 'I Found You'. It will be unveiled on the radio tomorrow and they explained:

"So you may or may not have heard but it's now coming officially from us....*drum roll* *pausing for dramatic effect* Our brand new single is titled 'I Found You' & you'll be able to hear it on radio stations everywhere from Friday morning!!!"
