Carly Rae Jepsen on Justin Bieber duet and judging pumpkin contests

Carly Rae Jepsen has spoken about her new duet with fellow Canadian Justin Bieber.

The 'Call Me Maybe' star is releasing her major label debut album 'Kiss' on Monday (September 17) and it is set to feature a collaboration with mentor Bieber.

Speaking to the Guardian, Jepsen said that the song, which is called 'Beautiful', oozed instant appeal.

The former Canadian Idol contestant was quizzed over her description 'magic' that she previously used for the track, and whether or not she meant good or evil magic:

"It's good magic for sure! The first moment I heard that song I knew I wanted to be involved with it so I was beyond flattered that Justin asked me to do it."

Jepsen was also questioned about her recent role as a pumpkin competition judge back home in Canada, which yielded an eerie surprise. She said:

"Well, I hadn't judged too many pumpkins before this particular contest. But it was both flattering and terrifying because someone had carved a pumpkin of my face. I said: 'I'm glad you care, but at the same time this is weird'."
