Girls Aloud have released their new single 'Something New'.

The pop group are due to celebrate their tenth anniversary in November and this week they have been teasing a forthcoming announcement.

The quintet, however, released the song 'Something New' on radio and the internet today (October 16).

The move comes ahead of their apparent announcement, which is due to be revealed on Friday (October 19).

Fans have been lapping up the track, with one Twitter user proclaiming: "Actually love @girlsaloud something new!"

Another user tweeted: "Omfg 'Something New' is amazing!!! Girls Aloud are back b*tchess! @GirlsAloud."

The release date for 'Something New' is November 18.
