Jake Bugg's self-titled debut album dominates the UK charts

British newcomer Jake Bugg has made a significant impact on the midweek albums chart update this afternoon (October 17) with his self-titled debut album as it shot in at the No.1 spot.

The 18-year-old from Nottingham is leading by more than 4,000 copies and he has denied vocal sensation Leona Lewis the mid-way point No.1 record as her new offering, 'Glassheart', entered just behind at No2 today.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Bat For Lashes made an appearance at 4 with 'The Haunted Man', Mumford & Sons' former chart-topper 'Babel' dropped 2 to No.3, and Bellowhead have claimed the No.10 position with 'Broadside'.

Ed Sheeran's major label debut '+' climbed an impressive 18 places to No.11, One Direction's 'Up All Night' rose 3 places to No.20, and The xx's former No.1 album 'Coexist' has slipped 8 to 27.
