Tony Bennett says Lady Gaga is "one of the best jazz singers that anyone's ever heard"

Crooner Tony Bennett has opened up about his upcoming jazz album collaboration with pop sensation Lady Gaga and explained that he's particularly excited about the project because of her incredibly vocal capability.

Speaking to Billboard.com, Bennett confirmed that the record will go ahead and it was initially Gaga's father, Joseph Germanotta, who set the ball rolling after he contacted him while his daughter was on tour in Australia:

"He said she told him that 'I want to do a jazz album with Tony Bennett, a jazz album. So that will be the next album after ('Viva Duets')."

He also had nothing but praise for the 'Born This Way' hitmaker's natural talent, and added: "It's going to really reaffirm that she's one of the best jazz singers that anyone's ever heard."

The pair have previously worked together and released a duet on 'The Lady Is A Tramp', which features on Bennett's 'Duets II' album.
