Best of British week comes to a close as District3 gets the boot from this week’s live shows of The X Factor.

Tonight’s show saw a battle of the boy bands as both Union J and District3 went head to head in the sing off.

District3 sang first with a rendition of a Bruno Mars track, followed by Union J singing an Adele classic.

However, only one could return to the competition next week and the judges chose a clear winner.

Louis Walsh, mentor to both acts, was asked to make a decision of who to send home but could not choose. The decision therefore went to a majority vote between the other three judges, Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Nicole Scherzinger.

Both Barlow and Scherzinger chose to send District3 home, sending them out of the competition.
