James Arthur rises to comedian Frankie Boyle's Twitter jibes

X Factor sensation James Arthur has already made headlines with his impressive vocal talents, but he's been a talking point in the past 24 hours for a different reason.

Edgy comedian Frankie Boyle took to his official Twitter page last night (December 2) and aired his opinions about this year's X Factor and targeted Arthur in particular. He wrote:

"Don't tell me that I shouldn't watch X Factor. I DON'T WATCH IT. I know who's on every week & I tweet jokes about them while I read a book."

Singer Arthur took notice of the tweet and publicly responded by writing "@frankieboyle Poor old man making yet more sh*t jokes about Xfactor because he knows that's the only way he can get attention any more #prat", which prompted Boyle to bash him publicly in a series of messages.

Boyle added: "@JamesArthur23 I think if I wanted attention I'd sing covers on a talent show, inked up like a schooldesk in a remedial class. Comedians make jokes about tits singing karaoke songs on talent shows you snaggletoothed grammar holocaust. Deal with it."

"James Arthur looks like someone put a sheep's teeth into a baby's head #Xfactor"

Earlier this morning, Arthur returned to the social networking site and declared an end to the situation: "No more tweets about Boyle I'm not giving him the publicity he clearly desires so don't tweet me about it please. I'm all about positivity.."
