Simon Cowell on One Direction's GRAMMY Awards snub: 'Fans and record sales are worth more'

Music mogul Simon Cowell has addressed the fact that superstars and former X Factor contestants One Direction failed to get a single nomination for the upcoming GRAMMY Awards and explained that it doesn't matter.

Cowell said that what's truly important in the grand scheme of their career and the industry is that they continue to have a strong and supportive fan base, and manage to sell albums:

"You know what's more important? Fans, record sales, I've always said that. Maybe next year they'll get something."

When asked by MTV News if the lads were bothered by the snub, he admitted that they are "not complaining" and have exciting projects ahead to keep them busy and entertained.
