Viral sensation Psy has signed up to become the new face of Paramount Farms' Wonderful Pistachios and will be working on a special Super Bowl commercial for the brand.

The 'Gangnam Style' hitmaker will use his world-famous single to promote the company and its products during the sporting event with a specially altered version suited to fit the nuts, and he also shot a TV ad for them in Hollywood yesterday (January 8).

Marc Seguin, marketing executive for Paramount Farms' Wonderful Pistachios, told USA Today in an official statement:

"He's penetrated the cultural consciousness of the United States. We knew the Super Bowl would require something really special to stand out."

Psy's commercial will air during the American football event on February 3.
