Selena Gomez and Simon Cowell face their critics by reading mean tweets

The latest celebrities to be forced to read offensive tweets posted about them on Twitter include none other than former Disney starlet Selena Gomez and British music mogul Simon Cowell.

The segment, which features on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show in the U.S. now and again, has proven to be very popular in the past and this time it was the pop songstress and X Factor mastermind who faced their social networking enemies and read aloud some nasty things written about them by members of the public.

A stony-faced Cowell read a message that simply said, "you my friend are a d**k", while Gomez was made to deal with a critique about her music:

"@selenagomez is on the radio right now. Is there a volume lower than mute?"
