One Direction have been updating fans about their trip to Japan.

The boyband recently touched down in Tokyo as they continue to show why they are one of the world's biggest music acts.

They sported traditional looking clothing upon arrival at the airport, just like the Beatles did when they hit the country back in 1966.

Taking to Twitter to express his admiration for Japan, Niall Horan tweeted:

"I love this country! such a laugh!"

He then posted a photo of some "amazing" sashimi and then a view of the city landscape.

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' stars also took part in a press conference as they attempt to increase their profile in the country.
