A driving instructor has opened up on what it was like to teach One Direction star Niall Horan.

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' star recently passed his test following a stint on a a week-long driving course.

Stortford's Intensive Courses driving school had the honour of teaching the Irish singer - but it wasn't too easy at times, it seems.

Speaking to the Herts and Essex Observer, tutor and company boss Noel Gaughan said that fans instantly flocked to Horan's car as soon as they got outside. He said:

"We taught Niall Horan from One Direction to drive in one week. We have a specialist part of our driving school which specialises in teaching high-profile people to drive. Niall was at a completely different level – with a lot of high-profile people we tend to be left alone. I had not realised, but when we were doing manoeuvres in the middle of nowhere, within seconds we were surrounded."

Horan, however, passed with flying colours it seems, with Gaughan adding: "He was absolutely brilliant."
