HMV confirms decision to accept and honour all gift cards

Earlier this month it was announced that high street music retailer HMV had called in administrators and the public expressed their frustration at not being able to cash in gift cards and vouchers.

Now, administrators Deloitte have confirmed that the company will go back on their decision and accept them after a more positive analysis of the music retailer's financial situation was made.

Deloitte also explained that proceeds from HMV's charity releases will be paid very soon and issued a statement on both pieces of news: "We recognise that both of these matters have caused concern for individuals and organisations affected and are pleased to have reached a positive outcome."

"We will continue to assess the longer term options for the business whilst continuing to trade. I am hopeful this process will result in the business continuing as a going concern."
