Frank Ocean: "I'm 11 songs into new album"

Frank Ocean has revealed he is already "10, 11 songs" into his new record.

The 25-year-old star released his debut studio album 'Channel Orange' in July last year, spawning hit singles, 'Thinkin Bout You', 'Pyramids', and 'Sweet Life'.

Ocean is currently working on his second album, which he says is inspired by ‘Golden Girl,’ a bonus track on the record.

In an interview with BBC Radio One, he revealed: “There’s ‘Golden Girl’ and it’s this beach scene and I kind of want to extend that feeling into the next record. I’m going to Bora Bora when I get back…I put a studio in my house, but it’s all in road cases. I’m going to take it all to Bora Bora and work for a few weeks.”

Ocean added that he's "like 10, 11 songs into this next thing. It's another cohesive thing bordering on a concept record again."

Ocean also said that he’s been in the studio with Pharrell Williams, but believes in a healthy work-life balance.

He said: “You have to live. I never could really work well just being in the studio day-after-day, every day. I can go in the studio for months straight, but I gotta spend some months out in the world. Usually when I meet these guys, if we happen to write something then we do, but it’s just cool to just feel it out first.”
